Housing, supervising and caring for overseas students in the UK is an unregulated activity. Consequently, the sector is awash with those who promise everything… but deliver nothing!

In contrast, Great British Guardians are passionate champions of the young, recognising that a child’s educational years are central in shaping their future life. We want to make these as happy and successful as possible and pride ourselves on our exceptional levels of care and support. We are therefore committed to ensuring that:

Every Student is placed with an experienced Guardian family who will welcome them into their home during weekends, exeats, half-terms and holidays (as required).

We carry out all necessary background checks to ensure that the Guardian family has boarding school experience and is legally, culturally and socially suitable to care for each student.

Your child is greeted upon arrival in the UK and safely dropped-off at an agreed destination on their departure.

We will liaise with the student, their school, Guardian and parents to ensure that all other personal travel arrangements are made on the student’s behalf and that the student is made aware of these in advance.

The nominated Guardian will care for the student, as if he or she were their own child. They will take an active interest in the student’s happiness and personal development and encourage them to exceed their goals and mature into confident adults.

The Guardian will represent the parent at school events, including parent-teacher meetings, plays, school matches and music concerts etc., and pro-actively participate in their academic progress.

We will work closely with the student’s school and their Guardian family to monitor your child’s progress and regularly communicate with you by an agreed means of your choice, for example e-mail or WeChat.

We will encourage your feedback and carry out any instructions or changes to your child’s routine that you may suggest from time to time.

We are here to support your child with any difficulties, anxieties or problems they may have from time to time and provide a 24/7 point of contact in the event of emergency or crisis.

We will ensure that all regulatory, financial and contractual obligations are met.

“The safety of the people shall be the highest law.”
